1.8 Reports must have supporting evidence in the form of at least a 2-minute clip containing audio and people involved in the situation. This helps the staff understand what happened.
1.8.1 Do not report someone just because you're mad at them. If they break a rule, please create a ticket. Do not break rules back and then try to report them after.
1.9 Players must always allow RP to continue. You must not break character at any moment or refuse to RP if someone has broken a rule. Finish the RP scene and report the situation afterwards.
1.10 Players are not allowed to sell in-game information or items for real life cash.
1.11 Impersonation of any Government Official (aka staff) in Mantra RP will result in being automatically removed from the server.
1.12 DO NOT ping or privately message any Government Official (aka staff)! If you have questions please open a ticket, go to support or general chat and someone will help you as soon as possible.
2.1 Metagaming: Using knowledge gained from outside your character and roleplay is strictly forbidden. Relaying information outside of your character is also forbidden.
2.1.1 EXAMPLES of Metagaming but are not limited to: Using Discord to share information, being in a call with friends to relay information, obtaining information from live-streams, stream sniping.
2.1.2 EXAMPLES of Non-Metagaming: On-call with in-game friends while not playing in the city, streaming your gameplay to friends who aren't playing in the city.
2.1.3 If you encounter a player metagaming, please create a ticket in Discord and provide evidence (at least 2-minute clip) with the ID# of the player and audio.
2.2 Powergaming: Forcing things to happen in roleplay that aren't fair or realistic, and not giving other players a choice is forbidden.
2.2.1 EXAMPLES of Powergaming but are not limited to: Seeing /me commands through walls and using that knowledge to take advantage of a situation, going into a green zone to avoid a situation, forcing roleplay, abusing animations, using /carry to bring people through spaces they couldn't go through, flying in and out to avoid a situation or to abuse the spawn system.
2.2.2 EXAMPLES of Non-Powergaming: Holding a person hostage for a reasonable amount of time, being robbed at gunpoint, letting others roleplay in situations even if it means you don't always "win," using in-game limits such as following what your character can actually do with the game mechanics (not forcing actions that can't be done).
3.1 Fail RP: Any action your character wouldn't realistically do in roleplay, failure to roleplay, or not taking roleplay seriously. Failure RP will not be tolerated.
3.1.1 Take roleplay seriously and do not break character.
3.1.1 EXAMPLES of Fail RP but are not limited to: Taking unrealistic jumps, baiting other players to chase and fight you, using "/me" to talk, knocking out another player without any reason/roleplay beforehand, not following through with your role (e.g., a cop refusing to roleplay as a cop).
3.1.2 EXAMPLES of Non-Fail RP: Roleplaying as injured or scared when your car flips, staying in character such as making decisions as your character would and not you personally, roleplaying with the police when getting arrested instead of refusing or ignoring it, acting scared when someone points a gun at you, a medic that roleplays helping people or a criminal roleplays a plan to rob a house.
3.2 NVL (Not Valuing Life): When you don't act like their life matters in dangerous situations. NVL will not be tolerated.
3.2.1 You must realistically fear for your life and value your life when it is being threatened with any weapon.
3.2.2 Examples of NVL but are not limited to: Laughing or talking tough when someone has a gun to your head, running at police with weapons when you're clearly outnumbered, jumping off tall buildings or bridges just because you know you'll respawn, ignoring serious threats.
3.2.3 Examples of Non-NVL: Showing fear when a weapon is pointed at you (hands up, cooperating), trying to survive when you're outnumbered, avoiding reckless actions that would certainly kill your character, treating dangerous situations with seriousness.
4.1 RDM (Random Death Match): Killing another player without any valid roleplay reason will not be tolerated.
4.1.1 There must be a reason or story behind killing another person. You must initiate prior to killing someone, you cannot just approach and kill them. There must be 60 seconds of interaction and a valid roleplay reason before killing the other person.
4.1.2 EXAMPLES of RDM but not limited to: Shooting someone just because you didn't like that they called you a name, running up to a stranger and stabbing them with no roleplay reason, spraying bullets into a crowd without any story behind it, killing someone during an argument without any build-up or escalation.
4.1.3 EXAMPLES of Non-RDM: Robbing someone and using violence if they resist, starting an argument that escalates into a fight with roleplay first, retaliating after someone attacks you in a believable roleplay situation, being part of an ongoing gang war where violence is already established in RP (read Gang Rules for more information).
4.2 VDM (Vehicle Death Match): When you use any vehicle to run over/hit/hurt/kill people without any proper roleplay reasoning will not be accepted.
4.2.1 In a 1v1 situation where you are in the driver seat of the vehicle with the engine running and someone pulls a gun out and your life is at risk, you may hit them with your car. However, if you are outnumbered with people holding weapons, there is a higher risk and you must roleplay in fear and comply with the aggressors.
4.2.2 EXAMPLES of VDM but not limited to: Running people over for fun or no reason, driving into a crowd just to cause chaos, using a car as your "weapon of choice" instead of roleplaying properly, repeatedly ramming someone else's car with no roleplay reason.
4.2.3 EXAMPLES of Non-RDM: Accidentally clipping someone in traffic and stopping to roleplay the accident, using your car in a police chase realistically (not mowing down cops), crashing because you lost control and roleplaying the injuries/damage.
5.1 Breaking character is when you act, talk, or do actions as your real self instead of your roleplay character. Breaking character is not allowed in the city. If someone has broken a rule, do not break character and keep roleplaying as usual.
5.1.1 EXAMPLES of Breaking Character but not limited to: Saying "brb my game crashed" in the middle of RP instead of using /ooc or using In-City Terminology, talking about real-world stuff during RP ("I just got a new keyboard IRL"), calling someone by their real name/player name instead of their character's name.
5.1.2 EXAMPLES of Not Breaking Character: Staying in character during all roleplay situations (even stressful ones), handling issues after or outside of RP and not in the middle of it.
6.1 Combat logging is when you leave the server to avoid roleplay or consequences. Combat logging will not be tolerated.
6.1.1 EXAMPLES of Combat Logging but not limited to: Quitting the game right after being arrested to avoid jail time, logging out when you are being robbed so you don't lose items, disconnecting in the middle of a shootout so you don't get killed.
6.1.2 EXAMPLES of Not Combat Logging: Disconnecting because of a genuine crash or power outage then rejoining and continuing RP, informing involved parties of a roleplay situation on Discord or /ooc about IRL reasons that are preventing you from returning to the scene, finishing the roleplay scene (e.g., after you've been put in jail or revived).
7.1 Griefing is when you intentionally annoy, harass, or ruin the fun for other players without any roleplay reasoning. Basically trolling and trying to mess with people instead of actually roleplaying will not be accepted.
7.1.1 Examples of Griefing but not limited to: Following someone around just to annoy them without RP reason, constantly ramming someone's car for no reason, spamming voice chat or sound effects to irritate others, purposely ruining events or RP scenes (like blowing up cars at a car meet), targeting the same person repeatedly just to bother them.
7.1.2 Examples of Non-Griefing: Crashing into someone by accident and roleplaying the accident, teasing or messing with someone as part of a storyline/RP reason, fighting or chasing someone because of an established RP conflict, playing a criminal role properly (robbing, scamming, etc.) as long as it fits the roleplay.
8.1 Spamming is flooding the chat or apps (In-City) with repeated messages or random junk/nonsense that breaks roleplay and will not be tolerated.
8.1.1 EXAMPLES of Spamming but not limited to: Typing the same message in chat over and over, using soundboards or shouting the same thing repeatedly on voice, filling chat with random nonsense or symbols.
8.1.2 EXAMPLES of Non-Spamming: Repeating something once or twice if someone didn't hear you, using chat for quick questions or info, roleplaying shouting for help in an emergency (without going overboard), using emotes to add to RP (not to disrupt it).
9.1 Cop baiting is when a player deliberately provokes or does unrealistic actions to the police just to get a reaction. This will not be accepted.
9.1.1 EXAMPLES of Cop Baiting but not limited to: Interfering and following cop chases, committing unrealistic crimes in front of police stations, ramming PD with no context.
9.1.2 EXAMPLES of Non-Cop Baiting: Participating in a realistic and believable crime and escaping (then roleplaying a realistic police response), calling the police for a legitimate roleplay reason, protesting/arguing with police in character without deliberately trying to manipulate outcomes.
10.1 When your character dies and is not saved by EMS or brought to the hospital by another player, they must respawn at the hospital (`see the light'). They cannot return to the location of their death or seek revenge on those involved, and must forget the events leading up to their death.
11.1 Corruption for city services jobs (LEO/EMS/DOJ) refers to abusing your role or position for unfair advantage which is strictly prohibited. If you want to make your character corrupted, you must submit a ticket on Discord with a detailed storyline. Once the story concludes, you will be removed from that whitelisted job.
12.1 Players cannot impersonate any State personnel. Doing so to gain an advantage, access restricted areas, or manipulate roleplay is strictly prohibited and will result in penalties.
13.1 Players cannot transfer money, items, vehicles, or other in-game assets between lives (characters). All assets must be earned fairly in-character. Transferring assets between characters will not be accepted.
14.1 Players cannot start new criminal activities involving interactions with other players within the specified timeframes before and after a storm or major RP events. This ensures fair and organized gameplay. The current restrictions are:
* Store Robberies: 30 mins before and after storm
* Bank Robberies: 45 mins before, 30 mins after storm
* Heists: 45 mins before, 30 mins after storm
* Cargo Missions: 45 mins before, 30 mins after storm
* Boosting: 30 mins before and after storm
* Existing ongoing activities may continue, but no new ones can be initiated during these windows.
15.1 Green Zones are areas where violence or criminal behavior are prohibited. Players cannot go into a Green Zone to avoid a roleplay situation. Current Green Zones include:
* Player-Owned Businesses (e.g., mechanic shops, restaurants)
* Hospitals
* DOJ Buildings
* Spawn Points
16.1 Players are fully responsible for all actions taken on their account. If someone else uses your account and breaks the rules, your account will still face the consequences. Always keep your account secure and do not share it with others.
17.1 Recording gameplay clips is allowed; however, you cannot use out-of-character (OOC) clips or recordings to influence in-character actions. For example, if your character dies and is subject to NLR (New Life Rule), you cannot use OOC footage to seek revenge. Only recordings made in-city through phones, news cameras, or other in-character devices can be used for roleplay purposes.
18.1 Body dumping is not allowed, as it makes it difficult or impossible for EMS to locate and properly roleplay the player's revival or treatment. Always leave bodies in accessible locations or follow proper RP procedures for incapacitated characters.
19.1 Whitelisted jobs are all roles that require approval of hire. This includes: State Leaders, State Employees (LEO/EMS/DOJ), and civilian jobs (restaurants, mechanic shops, etc.).
19.2 State Personnel
* State Leaders & Employees cannot be robbed, taken hostage, harassed, etc.
* State Leaders & Employees cannot partake in criminal activity whatsoever.
* Civilians must respect their role and maintain realistic RP.
19.3 Civilian Jobs (Restaurants, Mechanics, etc.)
* On-duty civilian employees cannot be robbed or attacked, as businesses are considered safe zones.
* Off-duty civilian employees can be involved in criminal activity if they are outside the business setting.
* Criminals may take off-duty civilians as hostages or rob them as long as you follow rules on robbing in Section 22.5.
19.4 Whitelisted Job Limits
* Players can only hold a maximum of two (2) whitelisted jobs for each life (character).
* This rule does not apply to State Personnel, as these roles require full-time commitment for that SPECIFIC LIFE (character). Therefore, if your character is either a State Leader or Employee, they cannot have another whitelisted job in that life.
* EXAMPLES:
* A character can be a Mechanic and a Business Owner.
* A character cannot be a Mechanic, Business Owner, and Lawyer all at once.
* If you are a State Leader/Employee, you cannot hold an additional whitelisted job on that same character.
* If you are State Leader/Employee in one life, you can still work at a Mechanic and Restaurant in your other lives.
20.1 Paycheck farming is prohibited. Players cannot be AFK in the back or remain idle just to collect money. Players can only be clocked in while physically present at their job location and actively performing duties; therefore players cannot stay clocked in while they are somewhere else on the map. All income must be earned through fair, active roleplay.
21.1 Players in any whitelisted job cannot exploit mechanics or special abilities for unfair advantage or to bypass roleplay rules. Examples include but not limited to:
* Using State powers (being police or EMS) to help friends or a gang win
* Using police/EMS tools while off-duty
* Any other actions that abuse job powers to provide unfair benefits
* All job actions must be performed fairly and in-character.
22.1 Hostages
* Only one request per hostage is allowed, and a maximum of two hostages per activity.
* Hostages must be unaware of your plans and cannot be affiliated with your gang.
* No faking hostages, all hostages must be actual players.
* All hostages' masks must be removed to prevent others mistaking them as one of the criminals.
* Respect the roleplay of hostages at all times.
* Do not keep hostages for extended periods without meaningful roleplay progression; prolonged idle hostage situations are prohibited.
22.2 Group Limits
Exceeding these limits will result in penalties. Third-party involvement is prohibited; outside help from other people not involved in the activity is not allowed.
* Store Robberies: maximum 4 people
* Bank Robberies: maximum 6 people
* Heists: maximum 6 people
* Cargo Missions: maximum 4 people
* Boosting: maximum 2 people
22.3 Police Interactions
* Players cannot request helicopters from police during criminal scenarios.
* Players cannot demand hostage swaps for officers.
* Players cannot ask for ransoms or money from police or other players.
22.4 Getaways
When leaving a criminal activity, your main getaway vehicle cannot be a motorcycle or helicopter. You can have other vehicles nearby to swap into during a chase, but they cannot be your first choice for escaping the scene.
22.5 Robbing
* You cannot rob playing in their Government (Staff) character and you cannot rob any City Services personnel (LEO/EMS/DOJ).
* You can rob other players that are in civilian jobs but you cannot rob them while they are on-duty. If they are on-duty, they are in a green zone.
* You cannot take phones or IDs from other players during a robbery.
23.1 Players cannot wear gang-affiliated clothing, tattoos, flags, or accessories unless they are whitelisted members of that gang.
23.2 If you are seen wearing another gang's identifiers, you may be warned and asked to remove them. Continuing to wear them could result in consequences, including being considered a valid target for Gang RP. If you get several warnings and refuse to take it off, you are subject to KOS by that gang.
24.1 Civilians should roleplay interactions with gangs realistically. Avoid interfering in gang-specific operations unless your roleplay scene naturally involves them.
24.2 Only one gang owned per player. This means only one of your characters can own a gang, but your other lives (characters) cannot.
* Your other lives (characters) cannot be any department Chief for the State (LEO/EMS/DOJ).
* If you are a Gang Leader in any of your lives (characters), you cannot own a business in that life and your other lives.
* As a Gang Leader, you cannot be a Government Official (Staff) at all.
24.3 Gang members must follow their gang's rules, city rules, and Mantra RP's Gang Rules. Owners are responsible for teaching members proper gang RP behavior.
24.4 Gangs inactive for at least 30 days will be disbanded. Inactive leadership may result in staff appointing a new leader or removing the gang.
24.5 For more Gang information, please read Mantra RP's Gang Rules.
25.1 Player-owned businesses (restaurants, mechanic shops, etc.) are safe zones.
25.2 Criminal activity cannot take place inside a business or force employees to participate.
25.3 Only one business per player. This means only one of your characters can own a business, your other lives (characters) cannot.
* Your other characters cannot be any department Chief for the State in any department (LEO/EMS/DOJ).
* If you are a Business Owner in any of your lives (characters), you cannot own a gang in that life and your other lives.
* As a Business Owner, you cannot be a Government Official (Staff) at all.
25.4 Employees must follow their business's rules, city rules, and Mantra RP's Business Rules. Owners are responsible for teaching employees proper business RP behavior.
25.5 Businesses that are inactive for a month or more may be removed by staff. For more information on business rules, please see Mantra RP's Business Rules.
26.1 Anyone in a Government (Staff) role cannot hold another position of power in the city, even in their other lives (characters).
Your characters cannot:
* Own a Business
* Own a Gang
* Be any department Chief for the State (LEO/EMS/DOJ)
27.1 Each of your characters (aka "lives") must be different from one another in role, personality, and storyline. They cannot overlap or influence each other's roleplay.
27.2 Your characters cannot share information, assets, or connections. Each life is separate.
27.3 Your characters may not:
* Use information gained from your other lives (metagaming between your own lives).
* No ties to one another.
* Share businesses, gangs, or jobs between each other.
* Team up with or directly benefit one another.
27.4 Examples of Proper Different Lives:
* One character is a Police Officer. Another is a Criminal Gang Member. They never share information or work together.
* One character owns Benny's and works at White Widow. The other works at UwU Cat Cafe and is a Gang Leader.
* One character is the Chief of EMS. The other works at Burgershot and is a manager at Auto Exotics.
27.5 Examples of Improper Lives (Not Allowed):
* Owning a business on one life and using your other lives to funnel money into it.
* Making two characters part of the same gang or organization.
* Using different characters to protect, hide, or move assets for each other.
* One character owns Auto Exotic, the other works as a mechanic at Auto Exotic.
* One character is a member of Gang A, the other character is also a member of Gang A.
